Attorney Profiles

Kenneth W. Hannegan, Retired CHP, Attorney at Law

I am a retired CHP Officer, who after being struck by a car was forced to retire on a back injury. I went through the workers' comp system and retirement system blindly. I had an attorney who never returned calls or answered my questions. However, I was luck in that I went to law school, had my degree and had been represented by an attorney who showed me what NOT TO DO in representing clients.

In 1981, I opened my office and since then I have represented "Safety Members" (Police and Fire) throughout California as well as their family members who needed assistance. We are part of a family and we take care of our own. It is important to note that police and fire is a specialized area and has laws and procedures that apply to this area.

As to my partner, Ms. Brooke Tafreshi, she was top of her class in law school and I have known her for 10 years. Brooke handles our personal injury cases, working hard to insure the best possible result for the client, she is great with people.

As to our associate, Phil Rennick, he too is a retired CHP Officer (Sgt.) who I have known for too many years. We met through the CAHP (Calif Association of Highway Patrolmen). Phil had just entered law school and he asked me if I would give hm a job when he finished school. Well, you know the rest of the story!

Please don't hesitate in contacting us with your questions, we are here to help!

Brooke B. Tafreshi, Attorney at Law

I have been practicing law for over 16 years, primarily specializing in Personal Injury cases. I have a true passion for representing injured victims, in order to compensate them for the pain and inconvenience that they have experienced. I will always go above and beyond for our clients. Our clients are our top priority, and we will help each of them through the entire difficult process. Since I know that accidents affect all aspects of our client's lives, it is my goal to make our client's "whole," and attempt to bring them back to their pre-injury state. It is of paramount importance for me to fight for our clients in order to obtain the most favorable outcome in every situation.

In addition to my extensive personal injury experience, I have been practicing Workers' Compensation Law for over 10 years. Since I am well versed in both personal injury matters and workers' compensation matters, I am able to help you navigate through the claims, litigation, and subrogation process most efficiently. I take pride in educating our clients on how both personal injury and workers' compensation cases often work hand-in-hand, especially with on-duty “safety members." Even if the person at fault is uninsured or under-insured, you may still have a claim under your own personal automobile policy coverages. Our office specializes in representing "safety members," and their family and friends with their Workers' Compensation matters (both on-duty and off-duty), and personal injury matters. If you or a loved one has been injured in an accident, please contact us at your earliest convenience.

Philip D. Rennick, Retired CHP, Attorney at Law

I was employed with the Highway Patrol for 31 years retiring at the rank of Sergeant. I worked in San Francisco, Oakland, Williams, San Jose, Bureau of Internal Affairs and Willows Areas. I served as an Area Representative and as a Supervisor Representative for the CAHP for many years. I worked as a Deputy District Attorney in Colusa County for 7 years and as a Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor for the California District Attorney's Association for 4 years before going to work for Ken Hannegan in 2017. Our office specializes in representing "Safety Members" in their Worker's Compensation Cases, Personal Injury Cases and other legal matters.

When you are hurt, we are here to protect you, your family, or loved ones!
